Holy Aluminium Batman!
clean hole punched through roughly 1.6mm Al backed with the bag of wepon testing (+1) note this is with a square tip on the actuator, in competition we hope to have an armor peircing head.
(356kb)
A single piece of 15mm chipboard... unsupported.
(346kb)
mmm Ke = ½mV^2
A brick (well half of one anyway).
(402kb)
Note the car battery is being used for power, the combat version will have greatly reduced electrical requirements.
(in order to play the movies you will need the Codec availablle Here )NB you will need to install the codec as administrator under win2k/XP/NT.Linux users meh I dunno its a Sunplus codec and there seems to be a project happeining on source forge.
shot with a Benq DC1300 camera.
ToDo
make the radio module, want to get to that tonight or tommorow. Hopefully get some data flowing. Go To RS-Components and get some new PIC16LF877 ($14 for a 40 pin chip, nice) chips to use in the brain swapped IBC and controller.
well to kick off, some tantilising glimpses of the wepon on Plan-C in action.
points for reference.
currently running at signifigantly less than half of what we anticipate running it at in competition.
That is less than 1/16th of the maximum power we could run it at before we had some "spontanious dissasembly" (and the bot's output can be tweaked up to that power level while in the ring via remote)
